A Dream Come True - # Chapter 5: Saranya
That girl smiles and looks at Sai.
“My name is Saranya Rajeshwaran… what’s your name…?”
She asks.
That moment feels like a dream to Sai. The girl he sees every day… is now sitting beside him… introducing herself and talking to him.
Sai smiles nervously and says “I am Sainath…”
“Nice name…” Saranya replies.
A few seconds of silence remain. Then Saranya starts talking again.
Saranya asks --“I think your office route is also this same route… where are you working…?”
Sai replies -- “I’m working in TSCS as a BPO employee… for the ‘Cillo’ vendor…”
Saranya says excitedly -- “Oh really… my friend is also working in the same company…”
Sai starts feeling a little comfortable.
Sai asks -- “I think your route is also the same… where are you working…?”
Saranya replies -- “I’m working as a trainee HR in ‘Simply Soft’… my studies got completed last year…”
Sai silently keeps looking at her. The way she talks… Her simplicity… Her smile… Every small thing creates another special place in Sai’s heart.
Without even realizing how the bus journey started or when it was about to end… Time passes very fast.
Just then…Saranya’s stop arrives.
“Okay Sainath… bye…” She says with a smile and gets down from the bus.
Sai keeps looking at her through the bus window…
Crossing the road… Hair flying in the wind… Slowly disappearing into the crowd…
That evening…There is an automatic smile on Sai’s face.
“Saranya…” Repeating that name again and again in his heart…Sai silently smiles to himself.
That small conversation…Becomes the first colorful memory in Sai’s dull life.
After that conversation…Sai feels like his life is becoming a little colorful.
But…
From the next day onwards, Saranya is nowhere to be seen in the bus.
“Maybe she took leave…”
On the first day, he takes it lightly. Second day… Third day… One week passes.
Still… Saranya does not appear.
Sai silently looks outside the window…And with a small smile, he thinks in his heart:
“I guess the things I like will never come easily into my life…”
That smile carries Disappointment, Pain and Acceptance…
Ten days passed. Sai slowly stops thinking too much about Saranya.
Life goes back into routine. The morning bus journeys start feeling empty again.
